AUGUST 26 - AUGUST 28
We were delighted and honoured to be able organising and hosting this international Letterheads Meet last summer.
From all over the world a wonderful and fun group of passionate Sign painters, Pinstripers, Calligraphers and Pictorial artists gathered in Amsterdam to share their knowledge, to learn and to have fun with fellow sign painters. We’ve had a blast with this wonderful crowd. We hope everyone felt welcome and had fun!
THURSDAY AUGUST 25
Opening night! The meet was officially opened with a casual get together at the old Heineken Brewery in the city center.
Claire Parker (Design Bridge), Demelza van der Maas (Heineken), Piet Schreuders (Independent Graphic Designer, Ramiro Espinoza (Graphic and Type Designer), Mick Pollard (Traditional signwriter)
FRIDAY AUGUST 26
The first Workshop day of the meet. Workshops took place at various venue’s in Amsterdam. The main venue was the lovely Volkshotel, across the street we were also welcomed at The Studenthotel, a but further out our own Studio at the Veemarkt and last but not least Krux.
Lunch was provided by Volkshotel and delivered to all locations. The day ended with a much needed casual dinner at the Studenthotel.
SATURDAY AUGUST 27
Day 2! Another day of awesome workshops taught by skilled leaders at the various locations. But besides the workshops there was more than enough to play around and practice with, the mural at the Heineken Experience, the mural at the Volkshotel, a Panel Jam area, various cars and windows were available to be used as a canvas.
After two days of hard labour at The Amsterdam Letterheads meet and another delicious dinner, everyone came together at Canvas on the 7th floor of the Volkshotel to celebrate the end of the courses at Typefest. Time to party, dance, chat and have a drink with old and new friends.
SUNDAY AUGUST 28
The closing day of the meet, after breakfast we started off with a boat tour from the hotel to cafe Roest. Bands playing, work made during the meet was exhibited, fresh panels, cars a.o. were painted on the spot, an auction for a good cause. Ending the day and meet with some dj grooves, fish & chips and a cold beer.
